Stuttgart, October 29, 2026—Experience One has received the Innovative through Research seal (Innovativ durch Forschung) from the Research Allowance Confirmation Office (Bescheinigungsstelle Forschungszulage, BSFZ). The seal is based on the BSFZ’s confirmation of GENKIK, a research project on Generative AI whose findings now shape Experience One’s work on (multi-)agent systems.

On behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space, the BSFZ has issued an official confirmation for Experience One’s AI research project GENKIK. As a result, the company has been awarded the Innovative through Research seal. The confirmation recognizes GENKIK as an in-house research and development project that Experience One conceived and carried out independently. “The seal makes visible what defines both our daily work and us as a digital transformation partner: curiosity, a pioneering spirit, and the willingness to lead the way systematically, even where there is no standard yet,” says Kai Müller, CEO and founder of Experience One.

Researching the foundations for tomorrow’s AI agents

Starting in 2023, Experience One spent two years on the GENKIK project, developing a generative AI configurator for digital twins. Digital twins act as conversational representations of a person or a role, with their own knowledge, behavior, and tone. Depending on the application, they also have a voice and a visual appearance. The project focused on challenges that every agent system faces today. The team’s work centered on the following questions: How can different AI models work together in one coherent system? How does AI stay consistently reliable in its knowledge, behavior, and tone? And how does a conversation with AI become a genuine experience that goes beyond a simple chat and adapts the interface as the conversation unfolds?

Working with digital twins in GENKIK taught us why many AI agents on the market fail. Today, every project we work on benefits from that experience.

Knowledge was one focus of the project. Experience One investigated how it must be structured and connected, for example through knowledge graphs, so that a digital twin conveys it accurately and appropriately for its role. Building on this, the team examined how self-adaptive mechanisms, rather than fixed rule sets, allow such a system to keep learning without losing consistency. These findings now inform Experience One’s work on conversational web experiences, real-time agents, and multi-agent systems. Sebastian Luxem, CTO of Experience One, explains: “Working with digital twins in GENKIK taught us why many AI agents on the market fail. Today, every project we work on benefits from that experience.”

About the BSFZ

On behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space, the Research Allowance Confirmation Office assesses whether companies’ projects meet the criteria for research and development. To qualify, a project must, among other things, be novel, involve technical uncertainty, and be methodically planned. Only companies whose projects have passed this assessment receive the seal.
